Definition
A subcollection of Flat_Topographical. Each instance of Plateau is an elevated, level or nearly level portion of the earth's surface, larger in area than the Summit of a Mountain, and bounded on at least one side by steep slopes. For example, the top surface of a Mesa is a plateau. Plateaus are found both on dry land and on the ocean floor.
